OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

1. The Chance to Win a Trip to Ireland contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by 104.9 VIRGIN Radio, a division of Bell Media Inc. and The Canadian Brewhouse (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsors”). The Contest starts at 7am Mountain Time (“MT”) on February 29th, 2016 and closes on March 17, 2016 at 7:45pm MT (the “Contest Period”). The Contest Period consists of an on-air entry period commencing at 7am MT on February 29th 2016 and ending on March 13th, 2016 at 5PM MT (the “On-Air Entry Period”), a ballot entry period commencing at 6pm MT on February 29, 2016 and ending on March 14, 2016 at 8pm MT (the “Ballot Entry Period”) ”), and a day of drawbox period commencing at 4pm MT on March 17th, 2016 and ending on March 17th, 2016 at 7:45pm MT (the “Day of Drawbox Period”). There are four (4) grand prizes (the “Grand Prize”) to be won. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
 
2. ELIGIBLITY. To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Alberta and be eighteen years of age or older. Employees and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with an employee of the Contest Sponsors, their respective agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, prize sponsors, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators (collectively, the “Contest Parties”) are ineligible to enter.
 
3. HOW TO ENTER & SELECTION OF QUALIFIERS. There are three methods of entry into the Contest:
 
I. During the On-Air Entry Period, an announcement will be made on 104.9 VIRGIN Radio per (1) time each weekday from February 29th – March 13th (once between each of the following time periods:6am – 10am for North location, 2pm – 6pm for Downtown location and 6pm – 10pm Sherwood Park location) and 5 times over the weekend March 5th – 6, and March 12th -13th (Saturday and Sunday between 12pm – 5pm for Fort Saskatchewan location) telling listeners to call in for a chance to qualify for entry into the Grand Prize Draw described below (each, an “Announcement”). When you hear an Announcement, call the Contest line at 780-488-1049. In the event that the entrant is outside of the local calling area, standard long distance rates as charged by the entrant’s long distance service provider will apply. The 9th caller (each, an “On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier”) through on the Contest line following an Announcement will qualify for entry into the Grand Prize Draw. Each On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier will be announced on-air and may be required to chat on-air. If there is not a clear telephone connection between the 104.9 VIRGIN Radio on-air announcers and an On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier, such that one or each other cannot hear the other, such On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier will be disqualified, and the Contest Sponsors will not be liable in any way for such failed connection. Each On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier will then be required to provide a representative of 104.9 VIRGIN Radio with his/her name, address and telephone number. In conducting the Contest 104.9 VIRGIN Radio and its representatives have the full and absolute discretion to disqualify any On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier who fails to respond on the phone or whose response cannot be heard, and the Contest Parties shall have no liability or responsibility to any On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier so disqualified. The odds of becoming an On-Air VIRGIN Qualifier will depend on the total number of individuals calling the Contest line following the applicable Announcement.
 
II. During the Ballot Entry Period, visit The Canadian Brewhouse Downtown location (10338 109 St NW, Edmonton Alberta) The Canadian Brewhouse Sherwood Park location (270 Baseline Rd, Sherwood Park, Alberta) The Canadian Brewhouse North Location (12711 97 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta) OR The Canadian Brewhouse Fort Saskatchewan Location (60 Westpark Blvd, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta) (each, a “Location”) and complete an official entry ballot (available while supplies last) and submit the completed ballot in the ballot box (each, a “Ballot Entry”). Ballot Entries must include your name, telephone number and age. Ballot Entries will be rejected if not fully completed and submitted during the Ballot Entry Period. Limit of one (1) Ballot Entry per person per day per Location during the Ballot Entry Period. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once per day per Location, all your Ballot Entries will be void. On March 11, 2016 and March 14th, 2016 at approximately 7pm MT a representative of The Canadian Brewhouse will perform a random draw at each Location to select 20 pre-qualifiers from among all Ballot Entries received during the Ballot Entry Period at the applicable Location. The first 10 Ballot Entries drawn during each Location draw on those two days will qualify for entry into the Grand Prize Draw (each, a “Location Qualifier”). The Location Qualifier will be required to come back to that Canadian Brewhouse location on March 17th 2016 to register for the Grand Prize Draw. The odds of a Ballot Entry qualifying for entry into the Grand Prize Draw will depend on the number of Ballot Entries received during the Ballot Entry Period at each Location. The On-Air Qualifiers, Online Qualifiers and Location Qualifiers shall hereinafter be collectively referred to as the “Qualifiers” and each, a “Qualifier”.
 
III. During the Day of Drawbox Period, visit The Canadian Brewhouse Downtown location (10338 109 St NW, Edmonton Alberta) The Canadian Brewhouse Sherwood Park location (270 Baseline Rd, Sherwood Park, Alberta) The Canadian Brewhouse North Location (12711 97 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta) OR The Canadian Brewhouse Fort Saskatchewan Location (60 Westpark Blvd, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta) (each, a “Location”) and complete an official entry ballot (available while supplies last) and submit the completed ballot in the ballot box (each, a “Ballot Entry”). Ballot Entries must include your name, telephone number and age. Ballot Entries will be rejected if not fully completed and submitted during the Ballot Entry Period. Limit of one (1) Ballot Entry per person per day per Location during the Ballot Entry Period. If it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once per day per Location, all your Ballot Entries will be void. On March 17th, 2016 at approximately 7:45pm MT a representative of The Canadian Brewhouse or VIRGIN Radio will perform a random draw at each Location to select a 3, “day-of” drawbox entrants from among all Ballot Entries received during the Ballot Entry Period at the applicable Location. The first 3 Ballot Entries drawn during each Location draw on those two days will qualify for entry into the Grand Prize Draw (each, a “day of drawbox” Qualifier”).
 
4. GRAND PRIZE. There are four (4) Grand Prizes, each consisting of a $4,000 CAD Flight Centre Gift Certificate. The gift certificate is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this contest, and those set forth by Flight Centre in respect of the redemption and use of the Gift Certificate.
The Prize winner and his/her travelling companion are solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein, including, without limitation, as applicable, taxes, fuel/currency surcharges, meals and beverages, room service, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls, insurance, any required travel documentation, all personal expenses of any kind or nature, and any overnight layover. Departure dates and accommodation are subject to availability and change without notice or compensation. The Prize winner and his/her travelling companion are also solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from the Departure Point as the Prize originates and terminates there. It is the sole responsibility of the Prize winner and his/her travelling companion to obtain all necessary travel documentation including passports and visas, and to comply with any customs and immigration requirements, as applicable. It is recommended that the Prize winner and his/her travelling companion obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure. The travelling companion must be eighteen (18) years of age or older in order to participate in the Prize. Approximate retail value of the Prize is $4,000 CAD based on a Calgary departure. No change in travel arrangements can be made by the Prize winner once his/her booking has been confirmed. The Prize may not be used towards any type of frequent flyer mileage, or other reward point accumulation program. Before being able to participate in the Grand Prize, the travelling companion will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsors, a full release and indemnity form stating that, among other things, he/she has read and understood these Rules, grants all consents required, agrees to be available and to participate in publicity and/or promotions related to the Contest and/or the Contest Sponsors and/or similar matters, authorizes the Contest Sponsors to broadcast, publish, disseminate and otherwise use his/her name, city/town/village and province/territory of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion and/or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and/or information purposes at no additional compensation to the travelling companion, beyond his/her participation in the Grand Prize, accepts the Grand Prize as offered and releases the Contest Parties from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the travelling companion’s participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Grand Prize.
 
5. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. The Grand Prize may not be sold, transferred and are not convertible to cash. Contest Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize, in whole or in part, in the event that all or any component of a prize is unavailable.
 
6. GRAND PRIZE DRAW. Each On-Air Qualifier and Location Qualifier must sign in with a representative of 104.9 VIRGIN Radio in person (or a representative of the qualifier determined before the registration date) at the Grand Prize draw (the “Grand Prize Draw”) taking place at The Canadian Brewhouse Downtown Location (10338 109 St NW, Edmonton Alberta), The Canadian Brewhouse Sherwood Park location (270 Baseline Rd, Sherwood Park, Alberta), The Canadian Brewhouse North Location (12711 97 St NW, Edmonton, Alberta) OR The Canadian Brewhouse Fort Saskatchewan Location (60 Westpark Blvd, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta)on March 17, 2015 between 4:00pm MT and 7:40pm MT. Any On-Air Qualifier or location Qualifier that does not sign in by this time will be disqualified and will forfeit his/her chance to win the Grand Prize. Note: Qualifiers MUST attend the proper location they were assigned to, failure to attend the proper location may result in automatic disqualification. On or about 7:45 pm, the names of all the confirmed Qualifiers (the “Finalists” and each, a “Finalist”) will be placed into a Grand Prize draw barrel (the “Barrel”) and the name of one Finalist will be randomly drawn and removed from the Barrel every half hour (approx. 8:00pm, 8:30pm, 9:00pm, 9:30pm & 10pm). If a Finalist does not present him/herself within one (1) minute of his/her name being announced, he or she will be disqualified and will forfeit the chance to win the Grand Prize. After each Finalist’s name is drawn, he/she will receive a wrapped shamrock. Note: it is possible for one person to occupy a maximum of 3 finalist spots due to the 3 different methods of entry. The first Finalist who unwrap a glittery shamrock will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winners. The odds of a Qualifier winning a Grand Prize will depend on the total number of Finalists in attendance at the Grand Prize Draw, but shall be no worse than 1 in 33
Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a Grand Prize winner, each potential Grand Prize winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by Bell Media Inc. Before being awarded a Grand Prize, each potential Grand Prize winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsors, a full release and indemnity form (and any additional waivers as may be required by third party prize providers) stating, among other things, that he/she has read and understood these Rules, grants all consents required by the Contest Sponsors, authorizes the Contest Sponsors to broadcast, publish, disseminate and/or otherwise use his/her name, city/town/village and province/territory of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice and all other indicia of personality, in connection with any promotion and/or publicity, and/or for general news and/or for entertainment and/or information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of the Grand Prize, accepts the Grand Prize as offered and releases the Contest Parties from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this Contest and receipt and/or use of the Grand Prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, the Contest Sponsors shall have the right to disqualify such potential winner and the Contest Parties shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
 
7. By entering this Contest the entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of the Contest Sponsors with respect to any aspect of this Contest, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to this Contest.
 
8. All entries become property of Contest Sponsors who assume no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected entries, mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting the name of the Grand Prize winner (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsors do not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials or data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsors, in their sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, Contest Sponsors reserve their right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries. Contest Sponsors reserve their right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsors reserve their right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Any attempts to deliberately damage the Contest web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made the Contest Sponsors reserve their right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsors shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest web site.
 
9. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering this Contest each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his or her personal information (information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home telephone number, age and home address) by the Contest Sponsors for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this Contest. Contest Sponsors will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering this Contest. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the manner of collection, use and disclosure of personal information as set out in Bell Media Inc.'s Privacy Policy, which is available at bellmedia.ca/about/Media_Privacy.page. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Contest Sponsors should be addressed to Bell Media Inc. at Suite 300 1110 Centre Street N.E., Calgary.
 
10. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of the Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest related materials, including but not limited to the Contest entry form, or point of sale, television, print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of the Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
 
11. All intellectual property, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade-names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source codes, drawings, illustrations, slogans and representations are owned by the Contest Sponsors and/or their affiliates. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
