Former TSN 1200 personality Shawn Simpson has passed away at the age of 56.

 

A former player and NHL executive, ‘Simmer’ as we knew him came to us in 2010 on a part-time basis offering hockey opinions on the ‘Simmer at 7’ segment of the TSN 1200 morning show.

 

From there, he grew into a full-time role alongside Ian Mendes on The Drive from 2012-2019, offering a wealth of knowledge, opinions, humour and, once a week, life advice for listeners with ‘Simmer Down’.

 

He moved to the Morning show with John Rodenburg in 2019 and brought enthusiasm, laughter, and a lengthy rolodex full of the biggest names in hockey.

 

Simmer was a life force during his time with us, and he will be greatly missed.
