On Saturday, Oct. 5, the BCHL held a panel discussion at their Showcase Festival event in Penticton, featuring former NHL players and current and former BCHL dads Doug Weight, Mike Richter and Dixon Ward and moderated by BCHL Commissioner Chris Hebb. Weight’s son Danny currently plays for the Penticton Vees, Richter’s son Tom is a member of the Prince George Spruce Kings and Ward’s son Taylor played three years with the Vees and is now at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. They discussed their NHL careers, why their sons chose to play in the BCHL and the state of the game of hockey today.
