New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis still plans to play in Sunday's All-Star Game despite dealing with a shoulder injury according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

His availability is dependent on how he responds to treatment in the coming days.

Davis missed the second half of New Orleans' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night. The Pelicans went on to win the game 131-122.

According to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, an MRI revealed a muscle contusion in his shoulder but was described as being “nothing too bad.” Shelburne adds that Davis plans to travel to Charlotte for All-Star festivities before making a decision whether or not to play. If he gets the green light, Davis will suit up for 'Team LeBron' in his sixth All-Star appearance.

Davis announced on Jan. 28 that he won't sign an extension with New Orleans and wants to be traded to a contending team. However, he was not traded and returned to the Pelicans' lineup on Feb. 8. He put up 32 points in his first game back but combined for just 31 over his next three before leaving early Thursday night.

"To tell you the truth, this whole thing has been a dumpster fire," coach Alvin Gentry said after Thursday's win, alluding to drama surrounding Davis. "It's hard for guys to go through what they've been through, and to be able to come out and beat a team of that quality, I'm happy for all the guys."

The Pelicans return from the break next Friday as they take on the Indiana Pacers.
