Glen Sather is reportedly undecided on his future as the New York Rangers' general manager.
According to the New York Post's Larry Brooks, Sather has not yet made a decision if he will return to the GM ranks for the 2015-16 season.
Sather has been at the helm of the Rangers since 2000 and has seen the team enjoy its greatest success over the last two seasons. The Rangers advanced to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final - the team's first since breaking a 54-year Cup drought in 1994 - and followed that up with a Presidents' Trophy-winning 2014-15 campaign. However, after a 53-22-7, 113-point regular season the Rangers fell short in the playoffs. The Tampa Bay Lightning became the first road team to ever win a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden, eliminating the Rangers in the Eastern Conference Final.
The 71-year-old Sather has made a number of blockbusters in recent years, bringing in established talent for young assets including trading first-round picks in the last three drafts to acquire Rick Nash, Martin St. Louis and Keith Yandle.
The presumed heir to the GM's title in New York is assistant general manager Jeff Gorton, who has been with the club for the last four seasons.
A member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Sather was nominated for the NHL's General Manager of the Year Award this season.
