ROME - Roma has signed Colombia international Victor Ibarbo on loan from Cagliari until the end of the season.

Roma has paid Cagliari 2.5 million euros ($2.8 million), with the right to buy the forward for a further 12.5 million ($14.1 million).

The 24-year-old Ibarbo, who has scored two goals this season, is the second forward Roma has signed in as many days after Seydou Doumbia joined from CSKA Moscow.

Meanwhile, there are fears Juan Iturbe's season could be over. The Argentine forward limped off in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Empoli and tests have revealed he has damaged ligaments in both his right knee and ankle.

Iturbe is the second player to be ruled out for the campaign, with Kevin Strootman also unlikely to return.
