Herman Haugen scored a 90th-minute equaliser as Viking held Bayern Munich to a dramatic 3-3 Champions League draw that will go down as one of the most famous nights in their history.

Harry Kane scored twice and played a huge hand in the third scored by Luis Díaz as Bayern came from 2-0 down to lead late on, but a needless red card for Michael Olise in the 73rd minute shifted the balance once again.

And with time ticking down the tireless Viking captain Zlotka Tripic sent in a cross and Viking academy product Haugen rose at the back post with the ball going in off the defender’s shoulder - not that any home fans cared about that.

Viking had taken a shock lead after only 70 seconds as Gianni Stensness headed in from a corner, then hit Bayern on the counter-attack seven minutes before the break with Peter Christiansen finishing a superb move.

Kane pulled one back from the spot early in the second half when Haugen caught Joshua Kimmich in the box, a decision given after a VAR check, and then headed in Kimmich’s cross on the hour as the England captain made it nine straight Champions League appearances with a goal.

Bayern were ahead after 71 minutes, with Kane sweeping the ball into the path of Laimer, who squared for Diaz to finish, but they could not hold on.
