Dallas Stars defenceman Jamie Oleksiak was suspended two games on Sunday for an illegal check to the head on Philadelphia Flyers F Chris VandeVelde.

Midway through the third period of Saturday's game, VandeVelde fired a shot on goal from the slot and Oleksiak came across to make a hit with the principal point of contact being the head.

No penalty was called on the play.
