TORONTO — Oskar Lindblom scored a hat trick and William Nylander added three assists as Sweden defeated Switzerland 5-1 at the world junior hockey championship on Wednesday.
Adrian Kempe and Jens Looke had the other goals for Sweden (4-0-0-0), which had already secured first place in Group B.
"You don't want to go in the game thinking it doesn't matter," Nylander said. "If we had a bad game today, we might have developed bad habits that would hurt us in the next game. So we wanted to keep playing the way we have."
Yannick Rathgeb had the lone goal for Switzerland (1-0-1-2).
Announced attendance was 13,857 at Air Canada Centre.
