TORONTO – Soccer's biggest global stars have a new home on TSN as the network kicks off its first season showcasing the ultimate prize in club soccer, the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. All season long, fans can watch an unprecedented amount of live coverage of the competition, with multiple games airing at the same time across TSN's five national feeds, giving fans the most choice of marquee UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE matchups.
The action begins this week with the Playoff Round as 20 teams face off in a home-and-home series with a spot in the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Group Stage on the line. Coverage throughout the two-leg series features three games across TSN's five feeds, beginning Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET with Manchester United vs. Club Brugge on TSN4, Lazio vs. Bayer Leverkusen on TSN1, and Bate Borisov vs. Partizan on TSN5 (see below or visit TSN.ca for full broadcast details).
Helming TSN's studio coverage are the network's acclaimed soccer broadcast team of host Luke Wileman and analysts Jason deVos and Kristian Jack. This season, TSN features more than 190 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE games across five national feeds, including up to 16 group stage games weekly, extensive coverage of the knockout phase, as well as the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL and the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL, live from the famed San Siro in Milan, Italy.
"The UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE are the most prestigious competitions in global club soccer, and the various marquee matches taking place at the same time are a key element of the fan experience," said Shawn Redmond, Vice-President of Programming and Marketing, TSN. "TSN's five feeds are the perfect vehicle to capture this excitement and allow fans to choose their team or surf between matches."
Additional information regarding TSN and RDS's coverage of the 2015-16 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA EUROPE LEAGUE will be announced in the coming weeks.
As part of a new partnership announced last year, beIN SPORTS CANADA and beIN SPORTS CONNECT also deliver UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE matches beginning this week.
