The UFC failed to make an appearance in two of Canada's biggest markets in 2014 but it appears as though they are quickly trying to make amends for the absence.

It was announced on Wednesday's edition of "UFC Tonight" that UFC 186 is expected to be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal on April 25. No fights have been announced for the pay-per-view card as of yet.

The last time the organization was in Montreal, former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was still on the active roster and he scored a unanimous decision victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in March 2013.

Both Toronto and Montreal were on the 2014 schedule, but UFC 178 was moved from the Air Canada Centre to Las Vegas for an expected light heavyweight title rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson, while the Montreal date was also sent back to Sin City for a two-title card at UFC 181 where Robbie Lawler defeated Johny Hendricks for the welterweight title and Anthony Pettis defended his lightweight belt against Gilbert Melendez.

The UFC is also expected to return to Canada  for a Fight Night card and host two more events later in the year with Toronto and Calgary rumoured as targets.
