WCT Recap: Team Carey wins event in Japan
Defending Scotties champion Chelsea Carey and her squad from Calgary won the Hokkaido Bank Curling Classic in Hokkaido, Japan this weekend. On the men's side, Edmonton's Karsten Sturmay beat Fengchun Wang of China in the final.

Defending Scotties champion Chelsea Carey and her squad from Calgary won the Hokkaido Bank Curling Classic in Hokkaido, Japan this weekend.
Skip Carey, third Amy Nixon, second Jocelyn Peterman and lead Laine Peters went 4-1 over the four-day event, beating Korea's Un-Chi Gim in the championship game 7-4.
Team Carey was the only Canadian rink in the eight-rink field.
On the men's side, Edmonton's Karsten Sturmay beat Fengchun Wang of China in the final. They were also the only Canadian rink in the field.
Carey won the national championship last season, but lost her entry to the Canadian Olympic Trials when she failed to reach the podium at Worlds.
