Braves extend Albies for seven years, $35M
The Atlanta Braves are continuing to lock up their young core. Only weeks after signing outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. to an eight-year, $100 million deal, the team has signed second baseman Ozzie Albies to a seven-year extension worth $35 million.

Only weeks after signing outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. to an eight-year, $100 million deal, the team has signed second baseman Ozzie Albies to a seven-year extension worth $35 million.
The deal comes with two option years that could take it through 2027.
Albies, 22, was set to become arbitration eligible in 2021 and a free agent in 2024.
A native of Willemstad, Curacao, Albies is in his third big league season.
An All-Star in 2018, Albies hit .261 with 24 home runs, 74 runs batted in and an OPS of .757 last year.
He's off to a hot start in 2019, batting .364 with a .929 OPS through 11 games.
