Canadians to Watch

- Corey Watman: Now entering his third CFL season, he should battle Dan Clark for the starting centre position previously occupied by Dominic Picard.
- Keenan MacDougall: After three seasons as a backup in Calgary, he returns to his home province looking to play a bigger role.
- Shea Emry: He was acquired in exchange for defensive end Ricky Foley, who posted 20 sacks in two seasons in Regina. Needless to say, much is expected of Emry.

Random Thought

The Roughriders offseason acquisition of slotback Cory Watson could be dubbed a classic case of “Better Late Than Never”. Picking eighth overall in the 2010 Draft, Saskatchewan chose receiver Jordan Sisco from the University of Regina, leaving Watson and Shawn Gore to be snapped up with the next two picks, by Winnipeg and B.C. respectively. While things never worked out for Sisco with the Riders, Watson went on to record 178 receptions for 2217 yards in five seasons as a Blue Bomber. If he can stay healthy, he’ll add toughness and a willing blocker to the Saskatchewan receiving corps.
