Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry says he hopes to return to action in the next couple of weeks after sitting out since Feb. 24 because of an injury to his left wrist.

"Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can be back and give [the team] a boost before the playoffs." Lowry said in an interview Monday with ESPN's SportsCenter. "I’m starting to get more cardio in, getting on the floor and getting some work done; cutting and moving."

With the timetable for his return that Lowry set, that would put the three-time All-Star returning right before the beginning of the playoffs.

As Lowry acknowledged in the interview, it would benefit both himself and the Raptors if he could return prior to the postseason. Lowry has missed the last 16 games and has yet to play alongside new additions: forwards Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker.

Toronto has a record of 44-29 on the season and has gone 11-5 during this stretch without Lowry. It currently sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with nine games remaining in the regular season.
