The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed on a five-year, $24 million extension with Ketel Marte, that also includes two option years, worth $22 million, according to report by Robert Murray of FanRag Sports.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed on a five-year, $24 million extension with Ketel Marte, that also includes two option years, worth $22 million, according to report by Robert Murray of FanRag Sports.
Marte played in 73 games last season for the Diamondback, his first with the team after coming over in a November 2016 trade with the Seattle Mariners.
He hit .260 with five homers and 18 RBIs in his third MLB season.
The 24-year-old would not have been eligible for arbitration until 2019 and free agency in 2023.
