Colin White is set to join the Ottawa Senators.

The 2015 first-round pick agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Senators on Sunday and is expected to join the team on Monday in Detroit.

The Boston College standout signed an amateur tryout last week and scored one goal and added two assists in three games with AHL's Binghamton Senators.

“Guy (Boucher) has no pressure to play him but we hope, at some point in time, he will get in our lineup," Senators general manager Pierre Dorion told the Ottawa Sun Sunday.

Dorion added Boucher will decide whether White makes his debut Monday night against the Red Wings.

White will burn the first of his three years off of his entry-level deal if he appears in any game with the Senators this season.

The 20-year-old centre scored 16 goals and added 17 assists in 35 games with the Eagles this season. He was selected 21st overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

The Senators have lost four straight games and slipped to third in the Atlantic Division on Saturday night.
