Rui Patricio is headed to the Premier League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers announced the signing of the Portugal goalkeeper following the termination of his contract with Sporting last week.

Patricio, 30, has spent his entire senior career with Sporting, making 467 appearances over 12 seasons.

The native of Marrazes has been capped 70 times by Portugal and is currently on World Cup duty as the Selecao's No.1 in Russia.

Patricio joins a healthy Portguese contingent already at the club including manager Nuno Espirito Santo, midfielder Ruben Neves, defender Roderick Miranda and forwards Helder Costa and Diogo Jota. Forward Ivan Cavaleiro is also Portuguese, but is expected to join fellow Prem side Huddersfield Town later this week.

The goalkeeper becomes the second high-profile addition from Portugal at the club in the last week. Mexico striker Raul Jimenez signed for Wolves on a one-year loan from Porto just before the World Cup began.

Wolves returns to the Premier League this summer after a six-year absence by virtue of winning last season's Championship.
