Yastremska captures Thailand Open title
Gutsy teenager Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine fought back from 2-5 down in the final set to beat sixth-seeded Alja Tomljanovic of Australia 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (3) for her second title at the Thailand Open on Sunday.

HUA HIN, Thailand — Gutsy teenager Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine fought back from 2-5 down in the final set to beat sixth-seeded Alja Tomljanovic of Australia 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (3) for her second title at the Thailand Open on Sunday.
The No. 47-ranked Yastremska was just two points from defeat at deuce in the final set but fought to turn things around and won the match in two hours and 22 minutes. It was her second career title after she won in Hong Kong last year.
Yastremska came out of the blocks quickly, wrapping up the first set in 33 minutes.
In the second, Tomljanovic, with the score tied at two games apiece, dominated play with more solid baseline game whereas Yastremska was overwhelmed with unforced errors, losing four games in a row to drop the set in 31 minutes.
The Ukrainian player broke for a 2-0 lead in the decisive set but then dropped the next five games to go won 2-5.
Yastremska called for trainer to treat her left leg and cut down her errors when play resumed, reeling off four straight games to lead 6-5.
In the tie-break, Yastremska was in full charge with deep groundstrokes and eventually blasted a forehand winner on her first match point to wrap up the victory.
