After nearly a decade playing with one of the best European rinks in curling, third Anna Sloan has decided to leave Team Eve Muirhead to pursue other opportunities.

"Thank you for all the messages! Curling has been my life for the last 10 years and the time feels right to explore other things! I leave with the best memories and am looking forward to the next chapter," Sloan said on Instagram. "It’s been a privilege to play with @team_muirhead and I wish the girls all the best for the upcoming season! I am very lucky to have the best family and friends that have been there for me and supported me throughout and I thank them very much!"

The 27-year-old leaves with an impressive resume playing under Muirhead. Sloan has helped the Scottish rink capture two world junior championships, two European curling championships, one world championship and a bronze medal at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Team Muirhead lost to Japan's Team Satsuki Fujisawa in the bronze medal game at the Pyeongchang Olympics this past winter.

Replacing Sloan at the vice position will be Jennifer Dodds of Edinburgh. The front end duo of lead  Lauren Gray and second Vicki Chalmers (formerly Adams) remain on the team.
